Narelle Simpson

Narelle SimpsonAfter graduating as a teacher in 1980, Narelle worked with the NSW Autistic Association for 5 years. From 1986 to 1990 she was a P.E teacher and co-ordinator along with teacher in special education and year 9 and 10 co-ordinator.

Narelle has always been involved coaching sport but swimming was her first love having grown up on Sydney's stunning northern beaches.

Narelle has been involved with teaching learn to swim since 1976 and owner of her own swim school Ns3 in Manly NSW since 1995. Narelle started coaching in 1986 and has since placed swimmers on several Australian Teams. She has been selected as a coach on teams since 2001, those being World Short Course and Long Course Championships, Pan Pacs, World Cups, Oceania and Event Camps.

Having been a past board member of the NSW Council for the Disabled during the late eighties and early nineties Narelle brings invaluable knowledge and understanding of the disabled swimmer. She was a head coach on the World Championship team for Cerebral Palsy in 1997.

In 1992 Narelle developed the Learn to Swim program for Seabeach Fitness Club then continued in this area setting up her own swim school involving infant Learn to Swim through to elite athletes. A coach with NSWIS since 1999 to 2006, Narelle was coach of Olympians in Sydneys 2000 games along with athletes at Commonwealth Games 2002, World Championships 2001, 2003 and 2005 and Pan Pacs 2002 and 2006.

Narelle currently trains blind marathon swimmer James Pittar, a successful partnership which started back in 1994 along with many high profile triathletes, master and open water swimmers with great success.

Narelle comes highly qualified with a Diploma of Teaching majoring in P.E and Bachelor of Education majoring in Psychology. An ASCTA Gold Licence Coach and lecturer in Sport Psychology and Sport Management Narelle comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and experience hard to surpass.

Narelle is now embarking on new territory with co founder Chris Spencer of InstyleSwimming Australiaâ„¢ delivering courses in the development of swim instructors/ teachers in the aquatics industry.
